Orphaned Land - recording ORwarriOR, a diary from the studio

Not that I am saying it's not worth the wait, but as far as I remember, the album was promised to be released in the late of last year 2008 and then it got delayed to the early of this year 2009.

now it's gonna be next year, we can't help but be a little dissapointed, surely this will all go once its out, but still...

I was expecting good news when I visited this forum today.

Anyways, still waiting.

@Messiakh: Let's just relax and wait. The epic bonuses (e.g. the DVD) on which OL are working now gonna be a great reward for waiting.

It took Liquid Tension Experiment exactly 10 years to release some new things since 1999; it gonna take Estatic Fear even more than that. We need to keep in mind that any genius minds still have many routine tasks to do, and inspiration to gather.

Masterpieces are eternal no matter how long it takes to create them.

I'm wondering about guest appearances on ORwarriOR. Besides Steve Wilson (keys, mixing), Shlomit Levi (female vocals), Avi Diamond (drums), Avi Agababa (percussion), Avner Gavrieli (piano), Abraham Salman (kannun), presumably Turkish rock'n'roll star Erkin Koray (author of Estarabim) [there is his picture from studio with OL guys at OL FaceBook group]. Anyone else?

PS: I dug some info about Orphaned Land performing with additional vocalists at some shows.

From Paul Baayens [from band Asphyx]:

...
Interviewer: I saw Paul do vocals during Orphaned Land’s performance at Progpower 2007 ...

Paul: That Orphaned Land song was cool to do. The very first show we did together was in 2005, when Thanatos performed with Orphaned Land in Greece. I had to learn that song in a short time, so I printed the lyrics and put it on the ground just to be sure.

Postmodernist- yes, Paul is a Dutch guy. I remember well meeting him in Greece. This was a funny story, since we met with the band Thanatos in the hotel lobby in Thessaloniki. Since Thanatos are a Dutch band, they figured they had a Dutch fan traveling all the way to Greece to see them. Then I told them- oh no, I am here with the Israelis of Orphaned Land. He looked at me like; wtf???
It turns out they were on a Greek label at the time and so they were the support act for the show. So he became a guest singer for 1 song when OL where in Holland for the PP festival. But this was not the only occasion he was a guest singer with the band. As far as I remember it was 2x at the PP in Holland and at one other show besides Greece- which I dont have from the top of my head at the moment.
Here is a pic from Greece in january 2005
*I will post it later cause this site is somehow not working...

I think Morticia is searching for this:

Hope it's gonna be an epic world tour after the release. Shame on me, the last time guys came to Moscow I missed them...
