Do you have a laptop with Firewire or your old rig? That way you could make sure it's not the Fireface400 causing your problem. Did you try to re-install the drivers of your firewire card? Tried a different PCI-E slot for it? Does the fw card work well for other applications (external hdd etc)...

Sounds like you should replace the tubes because at least one went microphonic imho. Obviously there are other factors, like the guitar, pickup, cabinet, and settings but personally I find the Savage sounds good even with everything set to 12 o'clock as a starting point. Its an awesome game, but the installation/download and GTA Online with the permanent crashes, bugs, warping, lagging, and 10 minute loading screens are kinda annoying. The heists are still awesome, though.

You might be lucky, seems the worst is already behind us. I could actually download the game and the insanely big patches today. Still you can look forward to at least 5,3 GB patches after the install

I've been downloading for the last 24 fucking hours (had to pause / resume every 30 seconds) and now the rockstar severs are finally giving up. 0-5 kb/s max, most of the time it's just losing the connection to the rockstar servers. Losing my fucking mind here. I can't believe I could download 60...
