    Drummer services needed for EP

This is for my own personal EP I've been working on these last few months/years. I've written it with programmed drums, and whilst I'm happy with that I'd much rather have real drums. Its a little different, very 90s centric groovy hard rock/metal. Think Kings X meets Pantera, Alice in Chains...

Looking for 90's snappy/woody snare samples

Some examples: You get the idea... Tight, woody, snappy, natural. If you have any or could point me in the direction of any that would be much appreciated. Cheers!

YT: Lundgren M6 vs Bill Lawrence L500XL (Di's and backing track available)

DI's and backing track here - https://www.dropbox.com/s/qam3gg0hkok4esd/M6%20Vs%20L500XL.rar?dl=0 In this guitar, I actually prefer the BL, but in my Charvel, I way prefer the M6  What do you reckon?

    Your preferred mic(s) for T-75s?

I've got a Marshall 1960A which has a blend of V30s and T75s (x-pattern). The tried and tested 57 + V30 is great with this thing, check out anything on my youtube channel and it's pretty much ALL that combo. I tend to neglect the T75s though because they just don't work for me, but in the room...

    Piccolo snare appreciation thread!

Admittedly I'm a bit of a 90's boi, so I grew up with this sound all around me, but lately I've been re-listening to some of the stuff from that era and man... When did snares stop 'cutting' like this? Now they all sound like a pillow being hit with a pool cue. I know there are a few good...

    Focusrite Saffire Pro 40 (UK)

In full working condition, has a few marks cosmetically as it's been in and out of racks here and there but been very well looked after, and everything works, never had any issues. Includes kettle lead and FireWire cable. I could even chuck in a used (albeit fully working) FireWire PCI-e card...

NCD - Bought back an old Zilla cab I used to own - clip and impulses for all!

I moved this on about 5 years ago, only had it for a brief period as something else came up for sale I needed at the time (a 4x12) and this wasn't getting any use, so off it went. Anyway, I needed something smaller than my Marshall 4x12 for smaller, less metal gigs, and to offer something a...

FS: Engl Savage 120 E-610 (recently revalved) + Z10 Footswitch (UK)

£700 Legendary high gain head, as tight as it gets. I simply prefer my Rectifier and no longer require this. 4 channels, great cleans, and a whopping great thick and aggressive as hell (savage?) heavy rhythm tone. Also one of the only heads over 100watt that sounds good at bedroom volumes IMO...

SM57+ sE Voodoo VR1 (passive ribbon) = winrar.

Just had my face lifted clean off by the tone I got with the blend of these two mics. Ribbons tend to be a little dark in the top end (or rolled off, more like) but this one extends a little higher than most. It's still not enough for it to do well on its own, so the 57 comes to the rescue...

FS: Mesa Boogie Reborn Dual Rectifier (UK)

2011 'Reborn' Dual Rectifier, with multiwatt capabilities (step between 100w and 50w per channel) as well as tube/diode recitifaction per channel (not global, like it was on previous models). That, coupled with the new improved clean channel (circuit lifted straight from a LoneStar) make this...

Mic'd up my drummer's snare - multisamples inside

There's a gog in there too, if someone wants to make a TCI file and share it that'd be cool. https://www.dropbox.com/s/mdw5t6lth58vm5l/Taye%20Studio%20Birch%2014x6.rar?dl=0

New Metaprism single (prog metal) I engineered/mixed/mastered [Music Video]

The only thing I had no part in engineering was the vocals, they did that at a studio nearer their home town, then sent it on to me to mix. Drums were recorded way back in Dec 2014 when I engineered their album. We recorded the drums for this song knowing it would be a single in the future. It...

Demoing the Peavey 6505 Piranha (20watt micro head)

This thing is hilariously small, and barely has enough oomph to push my 4x12  But here it is anyway, it doesn't sound/feel that bad to be honest, would make a great little practice amp at home with a 2x12.

YT: Trying out my new Spector bass for my EP

This will be the third time I've recorded the bass tracks for my EP  I've owned 4 different basses now in the last few months, nothing was quite nailing the tone that was in my head, but I'm pretty dam settled on this one. With just a simple EQ'd DI and a separate distorted high end track...

Marshall 1960A (V30's) Impulse for you

Just had a reamping sesh and realised I haven't yet made impulses with this cab, so here you go.. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/4128689/NumbSkull/1960AV.rar It's a little thin, but might work in a mix, who knows!

Borrowing some very nice vintage gear for my EP

And by that I mean guitar gear, sorry, no fancy outboard comps or anything  My own personal EP (done under the name "Crowborn", you can follow me on Facebook if you like - http://www.facebook.com/crowbornmetal) is nearly finished being written, and I'm at the stage of doing final guitar...

The bass tone on the new Trivium album...

... is outstanding. It's the sort of tone that makes the guitars sound enormous (though the guitar tone is already great) To my ears it sounds like heavy use of DI, with some grit in the top end coming from a distorted track, and MAYBE an amped track lower in the mix. Anybody concur or got...

YT: Seymour Duncan Full Shred demo (plus DI's & Backing)

Thought I'd demo this pickup since it's not often talked about, but is a great moderate output humbucker for most styles. Here's a brief review with a link to DI's and backing track at the bottom - http://www.numbskullaudio.com/seymour-duncan-sh-10-full-shred-demo-and-review Cheers!
