I'm tracking a new Testament song, and using a passive bass. It's been a while since I haven't used active pickups or at least active circuitry. This is a total passive system and I think there are some advantages, but clearly some things I miss with the active sounds. Any thoughts or opinions...

Just curious. How much, in terms of time spent and content concentrated on, practice are you committing to? How regimented are you with exercises or does the stream of consciousness flow? Thanks, SDG

I'm looking for a Rickenbacker 4001 or 4003 FL bass, preferably in walnut brown or autumnglo color, or even jetglo black maybe. Seems to be a rare bass these days. I don't know why Ric discontinued their wonderful fretless model. But if anyone sees one for sale or has one...please let me know...

In this video I'm using my Thor Bass 6-string fretless with Rotosound roundwound strings. Going thru my pedal board I'm using the overdrive, chorus, periodic envelope filter, a tiny bit of compression and some flange...lots of flanger. All older DOD pedals, as usual. It's going direct as well...
