Well what interests me most in this case is the number of US bands. Many I haven't heard of. I wonder if they are 'small' bands, or if the US is just a big home for true metal, and yet gets little acclaim back in the states.

KIT X is an awesome example of the underrated US 'true metal' scene. So many good bands, I wish I knew about it earlier, I may have gone, but KIT sells out super fucking fast

All that stuff as well as the new bands of that style... it is really taking up over here in Europe with people being fed up with mainstream metal (whatever you want to associate with that tag). It is a whole new movement of both young and longer standing bands - a new kind of scene within the old style, if you ask me.
