Sorry if this seems like a dumb question but I was just wondering because in his studio pics it looked like he didnt and I was wondering how come?

The only room I've been in that was actually treated properly was at NRG. Every other room I've seen, heard, or been in wasn't treated properly. That said, I usually work in a room that doesn't have any obvious or terrible flaws. The biggest things you have to worry about are bass, reflections, and standing waves. Bass can usually be solved with couches as long as your room is pretty big (over 20 feet in any direction). Reflections can be solved by simple absorbers and diffusers. My old space had no treatment in the control room other than the couches and furniture. The floor was carpeted so it was naturally pretty dead and flat. No noticeable bass problems (perhaps a lack of bass in fact). New room at my new crib has more bass and more reflections and is a much bigger room (and much taller). I will be treating this room very soon.
