Lol, so far zero albums I voted for.
Guess Born Too Late would be my #11 tho.
Hey Tomas, so how are we going about the "n/a" votes.
assuming theyve listed ten, which everyone did in this case, each unordered pick gets 5.5, the equivalent of being in between 5th and 6th. in other words, everyone gets the same amount of points to allocate to albums, but for those who don't order their picks those points are distributed evenly across all ten.
so those NA picks(5-10 spot) are going to get more points than the the albums that we have at 5-10 on our lists?
more than 6-10, less than 1-5. it balances out.
Can we do like top 3 ordered and then bottom 7 unordered to grant more points to what would be our 10th place, at the expense of points for our 4th place etc?
sure, you can do whatever (you awkward cunts haha), just make it clear what's ordered and what isn't. in that scenario the top 3 would get 10, 9, 8, and then the other seven would get 4 each.
You prefer Pleasure to Kill to Eternal Devastation?! Blasphemy.
I find PTK to be quite uneven, but it does have some quality tracks.
i find it a bit uneven too, but with higher peaks. they're pretty close to my mind. most people would consider your preference blasphemy!
two completely different(as far as thrash goes) beasts.

Btw let me just say again the way these results are done is top notch, gg
I think people forget how awesome that album is. Go ahead and throw it on and relive the glory days of Metallica imo. That was the first metal shirt I ever owned and the first full metal album I learned to play on guitar. It pretty much defined what metal should sound like to me for several formative years.
in the '80s they had one of the most distinct identities and diverse range of songs/albums of any band in metal. i have my gripes about their ambition exceeding their reach at times, but it seems like a lot of other bands are given an easier ride over similarly small issues; methinks people are harder on metallica than other bands because of overfamiliarity and the hype. even if it isn't necessarily my favourite, MoP is IMO their definitive album in terms of being distinct from their contemporaries and most complete in its vision. AJFA could've been that but they were getting too big for their boots by then and it's just too meandering and messy to earn that title, whilst RtL is almost that (and perhaps peaks higher) but to my ears the weak points in the second half are those of a band still searching for the ideal version of themselves. so... yeah, fully deserving of a high place on the list to my mind. i'm gonna regret posting this when the thread gets derailed but fuck it.
cheers btw, glad people are enjoying reading! i have a thing for reading poll results and other people's lists etc myself so i'm just trying to do it the way i'd enjoy reading them.
@no country for old wainds : I actually think the opposite, RtL is very consistent imo and the only weaker link is Escape. MoP has the problem that not only some of the songs are weaker but the good songs sometimes are abit inconsistent too, like the title track for example drags on too much.
Still great obv I mean I put it on my list.
