Guitars kinda take over this mix. The drums overall just sound very muffled and hidden. Overheads don't sound bad, though. Also, the vocals (both screams and clean) seem too up front if they're going to be that dry sounding, and maybe EQ the vocals differently, cut out some low mid, maybe.
Sounds cool. A bit more spacey sounding than the stuff that's released out there, which is good because its different, its not so tight and robot like. I like how everything is right where it needs to be. Good job, dude.
Yeah, they always track with Wade. His drum room is TINY and wayyyy dead sounding. The snare must be completely replaced. I respect the hell out of Andrew, but his stuff doesn't sound THAT good. He gets lots of work, though. He's obviously doing something right.
I also agree. Its really lacking some lows, and I think that those guitars that come in should be behind the rhythm guitars, they're somewhat annoying because they come out of nowhere.
I doubt they'd keep any of the real drums. That bass tone just sounds massively heavy. I'm interested to see how this one sounds compared to their older stuff.
Big fan of this record record. Drums sound huge and I'm really digging the guitar tones. Super heavy, but the record really breathes, unlike other stuff out there. Overall, IMO, a great mix.
