Prog Metal, followed by Melodic Death, followed by neo-classical non-German power metal. My preferences IMO.

After seeing this band's name pop up a couple times in the Opeth and couple other forums, I decided to pick up empirse to Avalon on a whim. Wow. First off I'm a sucker for anything having to do with the Legend of King Arthur, but I'm really floored by this CD. Great mix of clean vox and growls...

2 folk metal bands I highly recommend: Skyclad- You can't go wrong with Sklyclad. Catchy melodies, amazing lyrics, justa superb band overall. Elvenking- not bad either
