    FS: Samson Resolv 120a

I'd guess like 30 to 40 bucks for UPS ground within the states.

    FS: Samson Resolv 120a

I acquired this subwoofer a couple of years back brand new as a trade for recording time. I don't really have a use for a subwoofer and thought I'd sell it. There are a few minor knicks from moving it room to room, but it's perfect otherwise. Shipping will be expensive because it's...

preparing tracks to send to the mastering house

Loud and done are two different things. Turn up the volume knob if you want to hear it loud. What I mean by done is: "The guitars still sound fizzy...it's ok though because the ME will fix it." "This song sounds kinda crappy...mastering will fix it." You don't want to be saying stuff like that.

-Make sure the songs sound done to you. -Contact the ME for their preffered format.

    Stoopid Guitar Restringing Question

I'd start by checking neck relief and action. If adjusting that doesn't help I'd check to see if you have uneven frets.

Andy, any thoughts of ever doing an Instructional Book/DVD?

Seriously. I got rid of Pro Tools because, after hearing Mr. Donley speak, I started to notice that squawking that he was talking about. You gotta have that BOOOM! :kickass::kickass::kickass::kickass:

    Joining The Military?

Agreed. I didn't want to sound like an anti-military wank, but did want to express that joining and reaping the benefits comes at a cost that a lot of folks don't think about. Unfortunately, I place some of the blame on the recruiters. They only give you the one side...the benefits...and don't...

    Joining The Military?

Very true, and I don't deny that. My friends joined pre - 9/11 with the thought that a war was nowhere in sight. To them it was free college money, and military experience looked great on a resume. Unfortunately, they didn't think about the reality....they were joining the armed forces! I...

    Joining The Military?

Whatever you do...be careful. I've now known three people that have been killed in the Iraq war. One of them was at my house two weeks earlier, and was excited that the next tour of duty would be his last. Unfortunately, it was his last and he didn't live to see it to the end. The benefits...

    FIXING MASTERING

Thank you.....I'm a hit with you Germans. Americans...not so much. My wife says that I'm the David Hasselhoff of mastering. :Puke:

    FIXING MASTERING

Have them re-master it. Just explain that initially it sounded fine, but after listening many times it's just not right. If they stand by their work they'll fix it.

    Build your own guitar effects

Be prepared to spend a lot of money up front while you are learning! The method that I now use for toner transfer (magazine paper) isn't perfect, and you'll probably go through a few boards before getting it right. The beauty is that if the transfer was obviously messed up you can just remove...

    Build your own guitar effects

Transparencies are expensive, and do a really crappy job. Tear a page out of a magazine (with glossy pages), print on that (using a laser printer), iron it on the PCB (or use a laminator like I do), wait for it to cool, and then wet the PCB while peeling off the paper. That transfers all of...

Any luthiers or amateur guitar builders?

I've been looking at the StewMac site, and want to improve my working knowledge of guitar repair/building (guitar setups are the extent my comfort zone). Anyone have good online resources or communities that can help a newb develop some skills and point me in the right directions?
