If you want to record, i think you should try the Bogner cab with 2 V30 and 2 GT75 (I think it's that model...) it give you more possibilities with the 2 kinds of speakers for your records... but if you want to play alive too, i think you should buy a recto cab...it's indestructible, unbeatable...

Nice thread! and nice sound! I remember the first time I recorded a 5150 + Mesa Recto Cab with a 57 on axis pretty far from the grill and a small diaphragm condenser capturing the 4 speakers...the 57 was very smooth without all the shit from the high frequencies of the V30 Speaker...very nice...

Two days ago, we tried in our studio to mix some tracks with analog stuff, and the differece was amazing, more punch (purpleaudio compresor) and more "nice and warm" high frequencies...(brent averill's pre's like the neve's...i don't know the exact model) It's amazing how it works, very natural...

I actually use an alesis trigger I/0 module, and i have the same problem of digitaldeath...you can adjust the gain and that stuff...but if you have a neandertal drummer that hits the drums so hard, for me, it's impossible to avoid the retrigger effect... with a little bit sepparation between...

anyway...it's a crappy sound...:heh::heh:

I think is just a direct preamp or some kind of transistor marshall througt the preamp out... or a Metalzone:heh:
