    The vocal exercises thread

Nice, I have heard a lot of good about Ken Tamplin's lessons lately. I know he encourages to stay in chest voice as high as possible before switching into head voice while Luntle goes about it the opposite way. Is that why you didn't like his program? I don't use it but I am curious.

    The vocal exercises thread

I am just saying that for the price, Mastering Mix doesn't teach as many vocal modes or effects as it should. Edge and maybe a little bit of Overdrive on the chest cd but thats about it. Also, "mixed voice" isn't the greatest term to use as it usually just confuses students into thinking their...

    The vocal exercises thread

Brett Manning stuff is okay but it will only get you so far as it is based on some old principles. I don't think any of Brett's products even address screaming or growling techniques. For more versitile singing I would visit the Complete Vocal Institute website. Robert Lunte has some great stuff...

"Big" bands you've opened for that turned out to be penises

Ryan McCombs from Drowning Pool freaked out on my old band. They had a minute left in the last song and Ryan had the power cut.

There are multiple parts on that dvd where he plays the fast version different than the slow. I have also noticed the official pdf tabs are different from what he is playing on some sections.

    New Opeth album!

I actually liked Watershed better than Blackwater Park. Blackwater Park is a great album nonetheless.

    Ex Deo recording fail?

I think Maurizio Iacono is great but he rush's many of his lines. Even in Kataklysm songs he rushes words every once in a while. It's almost like he get excited and just want to spill it out. I saw Kataklysm live last week and it was weird because there were only 50 or so people at the show. It...

Kamelot - Poetry for the Poisoned

My final verdict: My favorite of all the Kamelot albums. Not as much cheese as the older stuff and without the "hollowness" of the ghost opera stuff.

Kamelot - Poetry for the Poisoned

Funny enough, the song they chose for a single, The Great Pandemonium, is probably my least favorite song on the album...
