Separate session for each song. Most of the consistency or continuity of an album comes from the production techniques used as well as paying attention to details of the engineering and then finally tied together with mastering.

I have plenty of cd's that sound great at uber loud volumes and at least an equal number of vinyl that doesn't. It's not black and white. You can have good and shitty sounding music on any medium.

Sounds a little scooped... like a smiley curve. Maybe add a dB or so of 500 - 600 Hz or a bit of mids.

Depends how good the band is .. and how good the engineer is at recording live. If you can engineer a great sound .. why replace it?

Sounds good and seems to be in the same ball park of the other song. Might just need a bump on the bottom in mastering. The only thing if I listen at moderate to low volume it's hard to distinguish what the bass line is playing. Maybe just goose it anther dB or two. ...nothing major though.

The track is starting to sound real good. Could still maybe use the bass gtr brought up another dB or 2 and a hair more definition on it. Losing the tom rolls a bit and also think the vocals could sit better. Maybe a different verb or a delayed verb and a little fuller eq on the vocals. They...
