    MIXING TIME: LoG Style Song!

Damn :/ that means that either my amp or headphones are out of kilter, or I can't hear bass frequencies that well :( it sounded pretty good on a number of headphones and speakers I tried, so it could well be the latter. Either that or I've just inadvertently collected a number of consistently...

    MIXING TIME: LoG Style Song!

I've actually just listened to it through a different pair of headphones, and on a pair of shitty laptop speakers, and it's pretty damn good :D

    MIXING TIME: LoG Style Song!

Yes, yes it is. And it sounds awesome with it. Not everyone has the luxury of €500 studio monitors :p

MIXING TIME, SONG3: Complete Feared song inside

Last attempt before I give up and go to sleep :p http://dl.dropbox.com/u/11035943/Reared_LRA_attempt_3.mp3 What plugins do you guys use for cutoffs, etc? Any particular ones you'd recommend? The ones I'm using seem to be letting sub frequencies through, despite being set to "Infinite".

Out of interest, what sort of speakers/headphone are you using?

MIXING TIME, SONG3: Complete Feared song inside

I've cutoff everything below 40hz on the bass, and boosted it at 100hz and 150hz. Yeah, the Metalheads snares are a bit lifeless at times, not really much I can do about it. EDIT: Actually I think the sub you're hearing is the kick. The sample is quite boomy, and has a long tail for a kick...

My late christmas gift to you guize: Full song ready to be mixed

Compressor settings for things such as a kick drum depend entirely on the volume of the track and the sample, but for an example, I use a very fast and hard compressor setting on my kicks, to give them a bit of "snap" and to boost their presence in the mix. I also boost EQ at about 60hz, cut out...

My late christmas gift to you guize: Full song ready to be mixed

Are you exporting each drum section separately (i.e. kick, snare, toms, etc)?

My late christmas gift to you guize: Full song ready to be mixed

Loving the bass sound, but the drums are mixed far too high - the kick is causing the guitars, bass and cymbals to duck. The snare is a bit too prominent, and could do with more "crack". Other than that, good job :)

Am I on the right track with this one?

Snare and toms sound perfect to me, always noticeable in the mix, while not overcrowding anything. What sort of EQ did you do on the kick and bass? Cause the bass is awesome to listen to.

***Feedback wanted on songs and mixes!

Loving this. Love the guitar tone, the snare cuts through perfectly, and the kick has just the right amount of punch. Nicely done :) What EQ did you use on the kick and bass? I'm having a bit of trouble on a mix of mine in getting the kick and bass to complement each other.
