What bands are bands that you just dont "get"?

without someone moaning, people never realize their problems. Unfortunately people aren't mature enough to be able to recognize thein own faults, though. I can understand you misunderstanding the thread the way it was phrased, but either way, its no excuse for flaming a band that actually has...

What bands are bands that you just dont "get"?

Once again, theres a difference between "getting" and liking. I'm sick of you idiots saying 'so and so sucks'... Thats not what this thread is about; its about whether or not you understand their music. If you don't understand it yet you already have an opinion on it, thats just pure ignorance...

Notice how I said I don't mind if people don't get it, but theres a difference between saying they are absolutely horrible and not getting it.

    Music to be miserable to...

Notice how I also included bands such as Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Explosions in the Sky who would fit the description of "slow rock" and most, if not all the stuff I mentioned is not folk metal, its just plain folk music if I said folk... It'd be nice if people listened to the bands...

    I need advice.... :)

honestly i'm the same as you... Except I went from liking death vox to hating them and then back to appreciating them somewhat... I still don't really like them but I feel they can be used in effective ways, like Opeth.

All this Dream Theater hatred is out of complete ignorance... Open your fucking minds and you'll perhaps enjoy them... There is absolutely nothing to hate about them, and in fact, they put a great deal of emotion into their music... The reason they are so fucking good is because they make it...

    I need advice.... :)

Patterns in the Ivy and Still Day Beneath the Sun are both acoustic songs with no harsh vocals... Hours of Wealth and Isolation Years too... I personally think all of them are good songs, even if the band doesn't think some of them are... Of course, they aren't metal either... And if thats what...

    Pale Folklore

Yeah, Agalloch sounds nothing like Opeth, but they are a great band and something Opeth fans would probably enjoy, considering that Opeth is fairly emotional music, and definitely has its own distinct sound, very much like Agalloch... Anyways, The Mantle is probably one of my favorite albums...

    HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ALBUMS

Ah well... That depends if the band is trying to be metal or not... I mean, if a band is trying to be metal and what they release is metalcore, then yeah, its pretty bad... But I agree with what you're saying; metal is most definitely not the only good genre of music out there.

    Bands not mentioned here

So basically what you're saying is that you don't love the music bands make, you love thier marketing schemes. Oh, and being able to book a gig and have a bunch of people attend it has nothing to do with whether or not the music is good at all... Thats absolutely absurd. If you say that, then...
