441's are where it's at on inside kick and off axis guitar cab. You can have condensors on kick and snare too, I saw someone dismiss it before, but 47 FET on the outside kick, and KM84 & 421 next to each other on the snare. Use each mic for their qualities, whether you want more or less...

Asking Alexandria - Reckless and Relentless

I don't know about really good singer, his pronunciation isn't the greatest when it comes to recording and he sings different melodies live. He has a very tone and puts a ton of effort in when it comes to recording, I'll definitely give him that.

Asking Alexandria - Reckless and Relentless

I've taken into consideration he was maybe sick, or nervous.. but I just checked out the video of them playing Someone, Somewhere on Jimmy Kimmel and on some show for Fuel TV and they can not pull off the singing for that song live. They didn't even sing the last two lines of the first verse...

Asking Alexandria - Reckless and Relentless

I'm with Jan, and the low harmony after "End of the world.." I find to be a weird interval in the Ah's

Asking Alexandria - Reckless and Relentless

I listened to the CD on my Griffin G2's and the vocals sit right underneath where they should be in the mix. Either way, good CD.

woe, is me - number[s] (woeeee!)

That's not what I'm trying to get at, yes the flow is seamless and Joey did a great job with that. However, because everything is not ALL about recording (or is it) the band clearly stays in one key the first half of the cd. I don't even know if they ever switch out of key the entire cd. This...

woe, is me - number[s] (woeeee!)

There's something up with the end of song 5 when those high, unhuman harmonies kick in I always have to press next. I feel like the first four songs need at least one gap. You think your on the second song and you look, you're on song 4. Maybe bad placement? Other than that I like the cd as a...

custom snare sample (joey sturgis snare 1)

I've completely dropped Drumagog from my workflow now that I use Slate Digital Trigger. Is there anyway of making a Trigger file for Snare 1? The only way I can think of is just going through the folders but it only let's you choose one hit. I'd like to have all the hits so I can automate...

When you widen any audio source wider than hard left, hard right in your DAW, plug in, outboard gear, etc, you're creating phase relations that give that airy sound someone mentioned early. Now this could of been done on the overheads (as someone also mentioned) because they do sound pretty far...

Great production, horrible engineering. You'll hear a lot of people back them up because they're attached to the bands they've recorded and aren't noticing the phase problems in these recordings, probably from using Waves Imager or something on the two bus and the unnatural drum tones. Even...
