Angry Post Hardcore EP FOR FREE

there are zero samples whatsoever, microphone into preamp into tape machine. I believe Kevin had my guitarist use some random Rickenbacker 4003 bass he had in the studio. There was definitely a sansamp bass driver into a 70's model ampeg SVT. came out so thick and grindy.

    Thrice - Major/Minor

love the natural sound of the drums really digging kick/snare combo and the amount of room coming through

Reverb send on snare and toms

its good to know i'm not the only one who does this, i feel i have more control over the desired effect this way.

    the punk sound

my recent mixes for my punk bands new 7" are fairly gritty. guitars are kinda mono but we're a 2 piece punk band so i wanted to make it sound as "live" as possible. Les Paul Studio straight into an Ampeg tube combo, not sure of model Gain at like 5, lots of mids...

    My New Punk Mix

I had them panned hard L and R originally, but thought it popped too much. With the exception of overdubs, much of the EP is mono guitar I was really trying to convey the live sound as much as possible, we're a 2 piece punk band lol

    My New Punk Mix

just got done mixing my band's new 7" EP kinda post-punk on some tracks but this is more straightforward No bass player so I had my guitarist replicate his live setup of an octave pedal into a bass amp. Sounds a bit rough but I wanted to capture our live sound as closely as possible...

    the punk sound

you could try it out but I really wouldn't use an HM2 unless the band is leaning towards that "deathwish records" hardcore punk sound (see:trap them, converge, all pigs must die etc)

    DIY DARK POP PUNK

Thanks man for the feedback I intentionally had bass in non dominant role in the mix We haven't ever really had abass player so it's kinda faithful to the live sound My guitar player uses an octave pedal into a bass amp live

    metal/death/hardcore reference cds

for mid heavy metal...black breath "heavy breathing" and this is a wildcard but get young widows "old wounds" so damn dynamic and the low end is massive
