I always mix with my sub off and when Im happy with the mix... I turn on the sub to see how it translates. Most people dont listen to music with a sub anyway. So I believe its best to mix with it off and use some consumer gear in testing a mix. Now for rap,hip hop, dance or some pop music...

Hmm. Triggers MIDI function works fine here. Must be a hardware issue.

Its actually showing up in ProTools at around +.8 digital. Once I lower the fader it clears up and sounds great. Weird. On a whim I pulled up Reaper and its the same level. Anyway, nice mix.

Thanks. Heavy Metal from my time was Zep, Judas Priest, UFO and others like them. Now my wife and kids like the newer stuff that most of you guys play. I record alot of it though. I have a small studio that I often record bands (at no or little charge). Keeps me young.
