    The Best Progressive Metal Bands

Trying to find new stuff on Youtube, I came across these guys. Finally someone had this awesome idea of mixing metal with one of my favourite styles: Flamenco. They are american, from Florida, I think. Anyone knows this?

Indeed is immature, never said it wasn't. And the production of those first 4 albums was shitty, but somehow they have a very special feeling and Archer's singing, although not perfect, had something Alder never had. Maybe it's that rawness in the sound and singing that made them so damn...

    The Best Progressive Metal Bands

After going through the whole Fates Warning discography after "No Exit", I realized why I never got back to them: simply they lost that "magic" atmosphere and inspiration we could find on their first three albums. Their sound got too clean, artificial and emotionless. I very much like the...

I'll have to agree with you on that one. How can someone dare put down an album as brilliant as The Wall is? That album is like the Holy Graal for concept albums and inspired music in general. I remember when I was very young and listening to Michael Jackson and Madonna, I went through my...

    The Best Progressive Metal Bands

As far as I can recall in those days, Fates Warning was the real first prog metal band, along with Queensryche a year or two later. Of course the term Prog wasn't used to describe it and we had Iron Maiden playing various rythm changes on their songs already, but Fates Warning kinda took the...

Thanks for the tip. Will do that. No Exit is a good album, but I guess at the time I was a bit deceived by the change of singers and the production of that album. I was youger and and less receptive to changes, I guess that's why I never got back to them.

Fates Warning. Great band, though I lost track of them after No Exit. That makes me curious. Gonna listen to the rest of the discography. I wonder why I never got back to them.

Yeah, I agree with him myself. That didn't go out well. Maybe it's because I'm fed up with people criticizing others just because they don't like the same things. I may be a prog fan, but I like many other styles, even out of the Metal scene. I apologize for that statement.

LOL. Don't get me wrong, I agree with you on the Justin Bieber thing, but I don't go and lose my time saying bad things about him on someone's thread. That is really the point I wanted to make. I expressed what I felt about a band and maybe someone else could get interested by it and give it a...

    The Best Progressive Metal Bands

Your loss, man. Not everybody is blessed with good taste OR respect for other's preferences, lol. However I understand and respect the tastes of people like yourself. Anyway, my post's intention is to describe my feelings for a band many people might not know, as I take someone else's post about...

    The Best Progressive Metal Bands

I totally agree with you. PoS is not for everyone. It requires much more than a simple taste for technic instrument playing and heavy riffs. It requires sensibility, intelligence, emotions, social and political awareness and much, much more than that. It is dark, heavy, light, deep, envolving...
