I really like EMGs as well, but for the best sound in my opinion, go with the Dimebucker. Used by Dimebag himself. Has a really clean sound, put a extremely dirty tone. The are a little pricey, but worth every penny.

Awesome! My band is in the same area as you, we just did a lot of marketing research. Make sure you get T-Shirts done, that is a huge part, and a great feeling to see people wearing your name. Which is your bands name anyway? I'll keep a look out for it.

The CD was to pop for me. It sounded alright, but it wasn't anything special. The drums over power the guitar.
