Same here, I moved on a long time ago when they didn't bother supporting aax. If I remember correctly, they wouldn't give anyone a straight answer on if they were doing anything about it either.

Kurt Ballou's production on these albums is amazing, I don't know how he can get stuff so angry and aggressive without sounding like shit.

I love using the fab filter pro q for notching out annoying frequencies, because I tend to over do it at first and then I can use the gain scale adjustment to back everything off.

I think the guitar twang is a Greg Fidelman thing, I seem to remember a Slayer album he did having a similar quality. It's almost like a single coil sounding attack on the guitars. To me the most offensive part is the kick and snare, the kick especially.
