I don't 'get' BRI - it's just a mish-mash of riffs and ideas, it just doesn't work as a whole 20-minute piece imo.

Yup, that was pretty damn good :D. Shame they had to cut Bleak but apart from that, top stuff. Mikael played a little guitar bit, and then sang a bit and then asked us what it was. The reply was mainly 'erm?' and his response was 'It was Judas Priest, you cunts'. That was quite a good moment :D.

I know, utterly ridiculous but not much can be done about it. I just hope they have some sense and get the support on pretty damn early, if there's any chance of Opeth even getting through an hour and a half, they'll have to be on at 8:15 and doors are at 6:30. I can see us potentially...

Well... it is. Every Friday they run a club-night, I phoned them to check as well. It's definitely going to be kaput by 9:45pm.

Yeah it is the carling academy, and I can see why they do, but at 9:45? That's just stupid. Ah well, have to see how it goes tomorrow.

Well the venue itself is pretty good, but it's apparantly 'Friday Night Policy' or some such bullshit. I gave them a ring to check last week and they confirmed it would definitely have to be finished by 9:45pm. I've seen QOTSA there, Porcupine Tree and others and it's finished at 10:30-11 every...

The curfew for Bristol on Friday is 9:45. Insanity. I can see use getting a seriously slim set at this rate, as Opeth will have to be on at 8ish and doors are at 6:30. Ergh.

Well, friday is going to be my first Opeth show and the setlist they played last night certainly suits me, but I'm just a bit peeved that they've been played a 10 song set at all their headline shows up until the UK, where they drop two songs. No way they'd suddenly just drop two songs, and if they did, I'd imagine it much have been a timing issue/something. Anyhoo, we'll see after tonight's gig. Still chuffed with that set tbh, but I'd like to see the other two (Serenity and Silent Water) as well.

Gah, I was torn for the Exeter gig. My mate offered me a ticket to see Muse in Manchester on the same night and my inner Muser made me go to that instead. Was it at the Great Hall or the Lemon Grove? I can't stand the Lemon Grove.

I was at that gig too! Almost my two favourite bands at one gig (Amplifier are absolutely immense). Wow, South-Westerners seem to have taken over this thread :D. Cider anyone?
