Any old time original Opeth forum members still lurking around?

Yeah, it is quite low isn't it....just sort of phased out after those first few years I guess ...but even then, pretty low. I'm not sure how that one played out either but lets just leave it at that...I'm sure there's other shit to talk about these days.

Any old time original Opeth forum members still lurking around?

Indeed. And a nice hearken to the old days of this board. What ever happened to Misanthrope and Sartori by the way? I remember I got into a massive discussion with Sartori about the influence drugs have had in the composition of music but yeah...we're all a bit older and jaded these days.

You got a few years on me big fella but yeah, I'd call myself an old time forum member and Opeth fan that still lurks around here on occasion. Opeth still get's the most playtime on my playlist though...that's fer surr.

Which song(s) got you into Opeth and when?

"In Mist She Was Standing." Back in 1994 or 95. A friend of mine played me this song off a strange album that had a cover with no band or album name written on it. Just a picture of a flower. The twin guitar opening riff blew my fucking head off as it was like no other metal I'd heard...

So my little girl said something cool while listening to Opeth...

Hopefully, kids aren't too impressionable, though I know it to be true. I remember my little cousin, she was probably 11 or 12 at the time was listening to and singing that song Ignition by R Kelly. She had a lyric sheet and of course, go's on to sing out that bit 'I want to take my key and...

    Suppressed Metal?

There's probably numerous reasons for this. I'll suggest a few:- Maintstream radio and video only generally play 3-5 minute songs due to rotational requirements based on sponsorship by record companies. Therefore, if your song is over this requisite period of time, its probably not going to...

    Where did the joy go?

Maybe I'm just getting old, but I have to say. After being a long time member of this board, these days, I'm finding this board has really gone to shit. Man, it seems like since new management took over, noone who has anything interesting to say actually posts here any more. I bet you could...

    Opeth Makers

I've told this story so many times on this board...but I guess I'm just proud and happy it happened like it did. Back in '92 or '93, a friend of mine pulled a plain blue CD out of a case bearing a simple photo of a pink flower. He said. "Mate, you have to listen to this. You've never...

opeth has signed with roadrunner now!

Actually, Moonlapse Vertigo in a literal sense would mean the dizziness or inequilibrium one may feel at not having seen the moon for a long period of time. Can't remember if the song lyrics themselves relate to this title though. Roadrunner - The pressure may well be on Opeth to write an...
