It might be silly to reply to a post written 7 years ago, but anyway... I've always thought that the radio is actually playing this album - Mercy Falls. This adds a nice recursive feel to it.

I hear "United nations may have fallen" (or "United nations made of fallen men") in the third line. Also it might be "You destroy and defile" in the chorus. Other than that, the gaps in my draft are the same.

I must say, I really like "Staring at the Sun". Musically it seems to me quite unusual for Threshold (and unusual for me means great, especially when it comes to prog). And Damian's voice is really soaring in this one.
