    ISIS calling it a day

    Celestial and Oceanic were their peak for me. Panopticon was good though, and so was In the Absence of Truth. wavering radiant was just dissapointing though.

    Sludge metal. It's good;

    theres still tons of atmospheric sludge bands that don't get mentioned that often though. also that reminds me. The Abominable Iron Sloth have a new album out. Haven't listened to it, supposed be good though.

    Sludge metal. It's good;

    nice. Kongh sound pretty good, never heard of them before. reminds me of YOB a bit. Deadbird is another sludge band that is described as down-tempo Black Metal, sound a little different though. Anyone listen to Amenra? apparently coming out with a new album soon.

    Question about all the sub-genres

    a lot of these sub-genres diverge or cross over at some point, particularly sludge/stoner metal wich usually contains influences from hardcore punk, crust punk, grunge rock, southern blues rock, doom metal, etc. its interesting to see where these styles come from and how they influence each...

    Sludge metal. It's good;

    yeah man, Julie Christmas is the shit. I've heard people say they don't like her vocals or that her vocals don't work with the music or whatever but those people should be shot. I love her vocals on Battle of Mice, one minute whispering like some creepy stalker and the next she's screaming as if...

    Great prog metal with female vox

    nice. I'm giving Soul Enema a listen. Instrumental parts are interesting. you could try Grayceon, not as symphonic, but great instrumental stuff. http://www.myspace.com/grayceon
