Looking forward to hearing it, personally. Except for Siren Charms, I love every one of their albums.

Battles has a certain sterile quality to it, for sure. They used the same producer that P.O.D. used, and minus the rapping aspect, there are certain P.O.D ish qualities to Battles (the choruses especially). I don't mind P.O.D., so that may explain why I don't mind that album.

I don't consider Maiden's debut album to be thrashy at all. It has more of a punk feeling, IMO. Killers is more "thrash" than the debut.

I imagine Gary Holt has to be somewhat disappointed. When Repentless came out, Gary Holt mentioned that he would love to help write the next album.

Fair. I can totally see that, especially compared to the rest of their discography. That's why I don't like it as much as Sounds Of A Playground Fading, which was their last really good album.

By all means, go re-visit Ghost Reveries. You'll thank yourself later!
