hey Roaring Hammonds rule! Just listen to Uriah Heep, Deep Purple or the godly Vanilla Fudge!! Actually what rules more is a Moog synth set on top a roaring Hammond!

All I gotta say is "Nectar" around 1:59, a riff plays and prepares you for an ultimate part at 2:12 ...man that riff with the vocals over it just kills!! Awesome double guitar work! -John

If they did add a keyboard player it would have to be different. I'd rather see a person playing a real piano with them on stage, or something more down to earth. Not a keyboardist with alot of modern digital effects and samples. You know what would fit Opeth's music alot? Maybe a Moog player...

oh I forgot to mention: Isn't Mikael doing that side project with the guy from Spiritual Beggars or something?

I believe in Opeth's music, every element compliments eachother. Like other's have said, sure I'd definately buy an album of all acoustic music done by either Pete, or Mikael but it would not exactly be the same thing as Opeth(I bought Thou Shalt Suffer(all keyboard neo classical music) and...

Even though I like Opeth alot. The vocal style on Morningrise is what turned me onto the band. It almost had a black metal sound to it. I prefer higher/midrange growl vocals in general ofcourse he performs his current style pretty well. -

I got to meet Martin Lopez at the Syracuse show. I just shook his hand, thanked them for coming, and told him I saw them in Toronto as well. He seemed surprised that I traveled the distance. It was well worth it! Opeth rules and I hope to see them next tour! John

I'll have to agree. I have heard Lakestream's band, Wars of Winter, Last Eve, and they all have good melody and kick ass music. My band is in the same vein as well. But with me not only is the Opeth influence making me so smart but the fact that I possess the sounds of Finnish Children's rock...

I agree with General Zod. Though I feel Opeth ruled and the other bands pretty much sucked regardless of that I gave legit reasons (in another post) . Besides, these are all opinions and each of us has a right to them. Obviously the comment about Nevermore playing 50 songs is an ignorant...

I found Dimmu's style to have changed a bit plus the fact they are using cheesy computer effects to enhance their band photos. I have "Enthrone Darkness Triumphant" now that's a pretty good album and some of thier earlier stuff has alot of good melody. The new stuff just sounds a tad mediocre...

When I first saw Opeth I was guessing that maybe they would have those acoustic guitars set up on the stands for convience when playing acoustic parts. The songs which they played seemed to call for an Acoustic Sim pedal due to the fastpace in riff changes. Now maybe when the next time they come...
