in my opinion, if someone's going to tackle something like this, they need to do it RIGHT. No Symphony X fan wants to hear a shitty, out of tune version of the odyssey, it just ruins it.

OH MY GOD I KNOW. Mesas are also overhyped and overPRICED. I'd take Peavey over Mesa anyday. But yeah, Romeo's tone on the new album is amazing. I do know he is not back to Mesa, but he has a Vetta II, Madison, Marshall, and Engl Fireball in his rack, so it could come from any one of those.

my main amp is in this price bracket. the Peavey Valveking. Great distortion, great cleans, and incredibly versatile due to the texture control. Jackass.

My advice: Don't buy the AVT if you can help it.
