New Mercuriall plug-in Tube Amp Ultra 530

Ok, update: I've cleared my installs and updated to u530 v1.1 @ 32bit for compatibility with all my apps. It registers now with all, which makes me happy. Shows up in Sonar and Audiomulch and works fine now. Their customer service is very good, regrettably they still can't have 32 and 64 bit...

New Mercuriall plug-in Tube Amp Ultra 530

I bought this and it does sound great. The tone is spot on to a 530 as far as I can tell. The features are fantastic. The contour button is super useful in all modes. The speaker sims are very good, so good I find for me there's no need for an external IR or cab sim. I was skeptical about the...

    Tom Mics

Me too, but like I said, space and cash is a premium (particularly the space). I need best bang (pun intended) for the smaller footprint.

Unfortunately I have both the above problems haha. I'm trying to get my drummer to work on his technique when recording, and his kit is often tightly-packed. Space is also a premium in my little project room, so I will be going with clamps at least for the 2 rack toms.

Thanks for the input. After doing some reading, alot of people are expressing preference for the D series over the Senns for metal, and a scooped-sounding tom is definitely the sound I want. The upgraded clamps look good as well. I also like the fact they are hypercardioid...I need as much...

Having a hell of a time getting great tom sounds (yeah, I know I gotta spend more time getting the toms to sound great to, that's in progress as well), but I am definitely looking for a solid set of mics for the toms, preferably to clip on...despite the vibration flaws, space is at a premium so...
