    Cheery Melodic (sortof?)Metal Song

Hello! I was sitting and playing around with different tunings as I was trying to learn playing blues slide guitar, so I tuned my guitar to Open C#. After a short moment I realised that it was to difficult for me :), so I gave up and decided to record some (semi?) metal instead! Took some...

Couple of new post/melodic metal/rock songs!

Hey Gato, thanks! Yeah I guess you're right, I usually tend to go overboard with the amount of layers. I guess sometimes less is more :D Never too sure about the proper level of the bass, don't really have any monitoring equipment that I really trust for the lower frequencies, so mostly guess...

Couple of new post/melodic metal/rock songs!

Hey! Used to post a couple of mixes/songs in here a while ago. However, been a bit lazy in terms of uploading stuff lately. Anyway, in case someone is interested I uploaded a couple of new songs today, mostly post/melodic metal/rock (I guess... whatever that means anyway :)). Maybe...

All Along the Watchtower (multi-layered ambient metal cover) /w vocals!

haha yeah, I know. Singing is something I try to avoid in general :D Sure, anything in particular? Clean guitars (5 tracks, but max 4 at the same time) are all SoloC with lots of compression and ping pong stero delay. Some have hall reverb, some got room reverb, and there is 1 with a super...

All Along the Watchtower (multi-layered ambient metal cover) /w vocals!

Hi! Felt inspired so I recorded a cover of the classic "All Along the Watchtower" this weekend, which I just finished! Also with vocals this time! Sorry I don't really know how to sing so I'm trying to mask my inability with even more layers/harmonies :) Recording was pretty straight...

Take Me Home, Country Roads (Instrumental Metal Version) :)

Hey, was a bit bored so I arranged this metal version of my favorite country song, the old classic Take Me Home, Country Roads by John Denver :) Not super tight, but whatever :D

Melodic Folk Metal Song with Orchestral shit!

Thanks! Its much easier to control the low end with good monitoring headphones. Yeah I agree that the guitars are a bit blurry, always difficult to get distorted guitars to sound alright. Also, the not-so-great quadtracking probably didn't help either :)

Melodic Folk Metal Song with Orchestral shit!

Hey! Was a while since I posted any stuff here. I wanted to try to make something different so I recorded this folk-ispired metal song and layered some orchestra thingys on it. It's a bit cheesy, with a super-lame harmonised solo, but hey whatever :) Any comments would be...

    Melodic/Groove Metal Song

Hey! Just bought these new ATH-M50 headphones, and wanted to try mixing something with them. I found this old song I wrote and recorded like two years ago, which I never ended up finish because I thought it sounded too messy. I figured that I'd would give it a new shot with these super...

    New Layered Melodic Metal Track!

Hey Nuno! Bass chain is not very complicated: Bridge pickup into AmpegSVX, just default settings but with cranked gain and midrange. Then compressing 10ms attack taking off about 15db, into eq boosting around 80-130hz and 2k and cutting heavily everything else in between. Finally a limiter at...

    New Layered Melodic Metal Track!

Hey! Just finished a new song, lots of layers with some postrock-ish parts. Check it out: Recording is pretty standard, X30/HyBrit for guitars. Missing my bass, so pitch shifted guitar for bass, just changed strings so actually sounds pretty deep! Of course missing the nice...

First time using SSD4 Essentials: Dead Bread mixoff.

Sounds pretty damn good! Is this the sound just out of the box? Didn't realize it was just $20, that's a pretty awesome deal!

Thank you very much Brady! Glad you appreciate my music :)

    first mix (charlez song)

Much better! I would just focus on the drums and bass now, you can barely hear the bass. Drums are a bit robotic, try humanizing them by varying the velocities. Add more room mic as well, they are a bit too bright in my opinion.

    Groove Metal (sort of) track

Thanks! Yep just x50. The guitar chin is just my Fender Strat -> EMU 404 USB interface -> TSE x50. Actually I just used the default settings as you load it up. Then a bit of EQ to boost the high mids and highs, and finally 2 instances of Voxengo Warmifier for some extra tube distortion.
