You'll have to adjust it. Pretty much inevitable. Don't be afraid of the truss rod though. Just use slight turns until you get it where you want it. Plus, the only real danger is when tightening.

My bad. That wasn't the point anyway and it was like a 5 min thing. Sorry. I would record the guitars with just your base sound. no reverb or effects. You can add that later. Just your crunch tones. Maybe a little less gain on the rhythm tracks too.

I like that chirpy pick attack sound on the guitars. Works for that riff really well.

Ok here is what I did very quickly. High passed and low passed everything. Set the levels starting with the bass, then guitars, then leads, then clav. I only used two rhythm tracks as the quad track seems unnecessary. Panned guitars 75 percent left and right and leads 20 percent left and right...

I like the song but I have to admit I like it better without drums. Also, try to use your stereo field. Everything sounds too centered to me and as a result everything seems to be fighting for space. Sounds like everything could be cleaned up real nice with low and high pass. Try to find a...

That's the drums you had with the file. The Metal Foundry kick blended in with the Slate drums, then a little compression and some eq. I think the eq had something to do with it. It's the BootEQMkII which I'm discovering is really great for drums imo. Not as good with cymbals though as it seems...

Not trying to sound mean here but maybe you should work on your playing more before you start worrying about mixing.

My first thought was the drums sound very robotic and boxy. Guitars sound boxy and muddy to my ears as well. Pay attention to those low mids I guess. I can't hear the bass if there is one. Also, the guitar sounds slightly out of tune on the breakdown parts. Sounds like it could turn into a cool...

I would like to hear the OH's a little louder. Other than that I like this sound for raw, nasty death metal. What was the guitar chain? Those palm mutes are grainy in a good way.

I'd say maybe less gain on the guitars. You sound a little out of tune so there is a little "beating" going on in some parts. Maybe high pass the guitars to make a little room for the bass and notch out some 300-400hz and 4k with a little boost on about 1.5k. Bass needs some more body to go with...

The drums also sound very far away to me. Maybe bring the guitars back a little.

So basically all that stuff I can't afford. :lol:
