Naberus - The Fallen (rawest thing in a while - JeffTD reamps)

Sounds unreal and real at the same time, can't beat that.

Thrash Metal...no copy/paste, all real drums, all natural mix

I like it a lot. Drums are great. Don't clean up the low end on the guitars too much! The grind is good. Musically speaking the turnaround beat is fucking cool.

    Follow ups with Bands

I never follow people up unless dates are on hold. I do encourage a face to face meeting and visit to the studio in the first response (or Skype) if it's a cold emailer type. That usually sorts the women from the girls and prevents time wasting on lengthy email responses. The conversion...

    Need headphone suggestions (take 2)

I've always had great luck with older 770's and 990's. Never tried newer ones, didn't know there was a difference. Try out some Stax earspeakers if you ever get a chance. Might have mentioned this last time but anyways... I was at a studio in France a couple of weeks back with a pair and...

Systematic Mixing Series #2: In Soviet Russia, Drums Slam You

You either need to provide further contextualizing (for the loose terminology usage) or factual specificity. Obviously this is not a physics lecture but, even still, it's worth using correct language at the very minimum, or it reduces the whole thing to a vanity piece, and it's better than...

Systematic Mixing Series #2: In Soviet Russia, Drums Slam You

Mate, respect for going to the effort but you need to sort out the phase section. She not right.

Building a studio... slanting walls, etc.

No worries mate. There are some extremely knowledgable people on that site. You can take pretty much anything on there as the absolute truth. Anything less gets howled down and disproven with facts from some study somewhere. It's where the modern implimentation of corner superchunks...

Building a studio... slanting walls, etc.

Couple of things quickly....If you are doing this yourself, on a budget, you need to do some research NOW. Not after you've got the joint, or after you've knocked up the control room. You'll get the best outcome for the dollars spent if you do it now. By research I mean getting among some basic...

Building a studio... slanting walls, etc.

Keep it rectilinear structurally. Modal behaviour is easier to predict and you have more space for treatment. You can still have angles if you want them and use the space behind for trapping. That is unless you have a professional design it. Best room Ive ever been in is a George...

Foo Fighters + Butch Vig = AMAZING. NEW SONG!

That's wild that you hear that as clean and euphonic. I hear it almost completely the opposite - distorted to buggery and kinda nasty. Perception is a funny (and complex) thing. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle hey...

Foo Fighters + Butch Vig = AMAZING. NEW SONG!

That's definately not a good advertisement for analogue, that's for sure. It sounds like it's had digital analogue added to the analogue analogue. Or somethin...

SSL Duende Native plugins are out

Mate where did you have the range control and what oversampling mode was the Glue in for this? Thanks for doing this.

SSL Duende Native plugins are out

Hang on, hang on....You can't activate the demo without being online? Shirley not. Edit: Not a problem if you have a Wibu key. Codemeter runtime needs to be installed on the net access computer for the key to been seen by the SSL license interface.

SSL Duende Native plugins are out

It IS existing technology. I already have 2 Wibu keys, 1 for Sequoia, 1 for Samplitude. They aren't new or proprietary to SSL. My hub has those plus 2 iloks. Not really a big deal.
