SM58 on cabs, I've done that too. From what I've heard the 58 is the same as the 57 but with a pop filter.

Don't those wrappers cause problems and crash sometimes? I would rather use a native rtas plug than get involved with an emulator, though I've never tried a wrapper. Battery 3 works good for layering.

It really comes down to what is comfortable and what makes you work more efficiently. I use PT but before I was using Logic Express. Logic has some cool features (freezing audio tracks is awesome) but doesn't touch PT as far as speed and editing, imo.

If you don't mind a little more floppiness to the strings than go with the ESP. If you need tight strings for fast riffing then check out the larger scale guitars. I switched to a Hellraiser for that very reason.
