    New member Crit? :)

I actually liked the first mix better, the second one seems to be a lot more high-end centric...

Need Advice on this Metal Mix!

A lot better! Try blending more room sound for the drums. It sounds like you're using some slight reverb, but it gets lost during busy parts of the song. Try sticking more to room if available. If you don't have a room mic available, try some trick like this to "create" a fake room mic. Room...

    POD Farm Problem

Honestly, you got me surprised here. I am enclined to believe you, though :P Try what Goodfellas453 described. Check on that page, too, you could have the issue described on that page - Line6 says to uninstall using their uninstaller, then install straight to 2.55. Other than that, I think only...

    POD Farm Problem

Impossible. Legitimate copies work with an iLok dongle. The issue you're describing is the exact issue everyone has with the cracked version of POD Farm 2.5 Platinum.

Need Advice on this Metal Mix!

Guitars are somewhat buried, even though they are really loud. They have no high-end at all, they are muffled. Drums are extremely dry and lack body, like they only have their attack left. Overall balance is a bit off, but I feel it's more about giving everything its own space to let the mix...

    Engineering my Progressive Deathcore album!

Sounds really good to me! Indeed, you've been down the ultra-tight editing path! Most people won't hear it anyway, but here on this forum you will indeed find some people who will be bothered by that :P

wanna check a raw/lively as fuck mix of one of the best bands in the world?

I love how everything has its own space. It's a thing we rarely hear nowadays. Even I tend to fall with the trend and make super busy mixes. Honestly , to those few people who said that doesn't sound natural, find me a mix sounding more natural yet so good than that... There are not so many you...

BETRAYING THE MARTYRS - BECAUSE OF YOU (LYRIC VIDEO!)

Hey man, always wondered who made this thing sound so beast. In the genre, this is one of my favourites mixes of all time! Props to you on that one. What did you do exactly in terms of automation? I never did much automation other that automation the pre-FX to give room for the compressors to...

    3-MetalCore.

I like the aggressive sound. Vocals are all double tracked? Otherwise I like the vocalist's sound, and that bass tone! Watch those edits, they sometimes sound really unnatural, for example in the intro. Otherwise I like it. Guitars are a bit high-end heavy but I can't say I hate it.

    Backingtrack

Honestly, this isn't complicated at all! It seems harder than it is, once you've got the twist, it's easy. 1- Routing click and backing tracks to one output 2- Routing backing tracks to second output 3- Enjoy Drummer uses output 1, output 2 in PA system. Where's the hard part? ;)

    Drums

Honestly, don't worry with that ring. Sounds more natural to me with a small ring. It's not that big of an issue, it's not out of control. About it cutting through the mix, you'll have to shape the rest of your mix around that.

    Stems/Raws for Mix Practice Thread!

Overall it's not bad, but I've got some issues: - The cymbals sound robotic. What are the samples? This is definately not multi-samples! - Guitars are really loud... Also I'm not sure I like the effect on the "just open your eyes". Maybe that's just me.

    Drum Tracking Question

If that's what you do, make sure to be cautious about your mic placements so you get minimum kick bleed... Otherwise you'll get major problems when you'll move stuff around. I also hope for you that's he's a good and steady drummer who knows how to play on click.
