    What bands sound like Suspyre?

One reason I didn't start really getting into progressive stuff until college was because it was so much harder to find music when the internet wasn't quite as developed. It's a piece of cake now because of youtube, iTunes, facebook... even myspace. I remember it used to be a huge deal to...

What do Suspyre members and fans think of these bands?

Opeth - I've heard some of it and it's alright. Nothing that's made me need to clean my drawers, though. Meshuggah - I think they're the best thing to happen to metal since Pantera. They created an entire sub-genre of metal (I think people are calling it "djent") and now there are hordes of...

Thanks for the very kind words! Yes, the album is due out this year. We don't have a set date yet, but we're aiming at sometime this summer. We'll definitely keep everybody posted.

    Suspyre Studio Sample

This is a short sample of Suspyre's studio progress. NOTE: The sample of this song is represented with scratch guitar and keyboard sounds. This is not the final version of the tune. However, we wanted to keep those who are interested involved in our progress. Thanks!

    Recording commences on new album.

We're still pushing forward with the album. The drums are finished (for now, at least). Clay has tracked vox on a few tunes and we're booked to get more down soon. Gregg and Andrew are consistently working to get the exact guitar sound they want, so I'm never entirely sure whether or not...

    Production on the Suspyre disc

Perfect production. Perfect performance. But, I'm a little biased because Morgan Agren is one of my idols. Other than that, Meshuggah's Nothing album (the original, not the re-release) is a production masterpiece. But, I like that raw, put some musicians in a room and press record kind of...

    Conceptualizing the New Album

I've resorted to playing some of the parts with my teeth. :)

    Conceptualizing the New Album

As I stay awake to finish conceptualizing ideas for the new album, I'm getting more and more excited to see the final result of Suspyre's new material. Gregg's writing is kinda like a shopping spree of material of which I feel there are no boundaries - a drummer's dream, right? It's...

    Update November 2009

You definitely, DEFINITELY, need to be in America for at least one Halloween, particularly New York when Halloween lands on the weekend. The West Village looked like Mardi Gras last night. Sadly, I don't think it's on the weekend again until 2014.

I may not have Clay's range, but they don't call me Gabe "Swivel-Hips" Marshall for nothin'.

    Video Interview

Haha... Oklahoma City is a bit of a hike from NYC. But, who knows... it's hard for me to pass on an opportunity to belt out "Rebel Yell."
