    luckily, i was able to record a really lame demo on my laptop so i finished what i need to. i've ran into a lot of other problems since i've gotten a new computer so i've decided to just reformat and see if that helps anything. ill post back and let you guys know.

    i tried restarting the fast track pro on desktop before i opened reaper and i tried restarting it while i had reaper open. niether worked. i also tried looking for the flush plugins thing and didn't find anything.

    i'm using a voxengo elephant plugin for vocals because the preamps in my fast track pro are pretty lame. its the demo version so that may be the solution haha. ill take it out of the chain and see what happens. :edit: problem solved. thanks a lot umf! does anyone know of any other free signal...

    it does cut when i have the vocal track solo'd. im not sure if those could be the causes because the cuts dont always happen in the same place. it seems to me like it would be a computer performance issue or something. maybe i need more ram? i was really hoping this happened to someone else...

    gotcha. well they said my tone sounded buried and i think its because i was using a low pass. i removed that, cut the treble and boosted the bass a hair. im gonna try and record a lame bass line for it.

    yeah i tried cutting it at 1.5k but i didnt notice a difference really. i posted this on several forums and one guy told me to boost the mids and i think that improved the sound.
