    Looking for Vocalist (Melodic Dark/Doom)

I'm not really sure where to begin looking for a vocalist. I'm hoping to find someone willing to record some vocals (preferably growl/death metal style vocals) for an EP that is 80% recorded. I can send rough mixes to anyone interested, but equally if you have any tips for where else I might...

Input on a couple of TS/dist pedals ?

Joyo Vintage Overdrive. Incredible pedal, hands-down. Extremely close to the original TS and an absolute bargain. I love mine.

    Ribbon/Fathead Cab Impulses?

I'm looking for a good 4x12 cab impulse (preferably Mesa or Orange) mic'd with a ribbon of some sort- Royer or Fathead would be perfect. Free would be great, but I don't mind paying a little if its good. EDIT: Are the OwnHammer IR's worth it? Anybody have experience with them?

    EZDrummer 2 with Windows XP

For anyone also still using an XP-based computer, this trick works great. I've had EZD2 up and running for a couple of weeks now.

    EZDrummer 2 with Windows XP

I have been bitterly disappointed to find that EZ2 doesn't work with XP and I don't have too many options about upgrading (far too much money to upgrade specific hardware and software). My Yamaha i88x doesn't support Win7+ I came across a website that discusses changing the .msi file in the...

    Death/Doom Prog Song (Cathis Ord)

As a few guys had asked me to make the songs from my 2008 demo available again, I have remixed the 2nd song 'Lost Empire'. I'm struggling to remember exactly what equipment I used, but I used an Engl Fireball for the rhythm guitars, through impulses. It was originally recorded through the...

Free VST synths for Post Metal?

I'm looking for a couple of good (free) Vsti synths, but they have to either be super easy to use or have some decent presets as I'm pretty lost when it comes to setting up Synths. I'm really looking for two synths; one for 'noise' making, i.e really depressive, drone, glitch, white-noise...

Post Links To Your Musical Projects Here

Cathis Ord. The band have been likened to Opeth, Dan Swano, Agalloch, early Katatonia and a few other varied genres. Progressive Dark Metal probably best describes it. The debut album 'The Far Shore' is available for preorder now. Press Reviews for the '08 Demo: " ...Both of the...

    CD Pressing/Copyrighting/Label hunting etc

No man, thats really helpful. I'm pretty much set on doing this myself now. It may be more work and time for me to undertake it, but I figure I will get out what I put in. Without sounding crass about it, I'll just have to :Spam: my way through the internet, getting the CD about as much as I...

    CD Pressing/Copyrighting/Label hunting etc

Its just not going to happen as a live band. I started down this path 3 years ago because I couldn't find anybody with similar musical direction. I don't live in a big city and I don't have any sort of network of people (you know what I mean) that I can draw upon to find other musicians. I've...

    CD Pressing/Copyrighting/Label hunting etc

Well, having done some research the last day or two, it seems to be a much better route as a non-touring, developing band to self-launch and promote the CD myself. I wasn't aware of the scope of websites/companies like CDBaby- enabling me to have a shopfront in the US and also sell on iTunes...

    CD Pressing/Copyrighting/Label hunting etc

Ok cool, so is the general consensus that you really don't need a label anymore? I guess I should investigate online promotors/distributors more. I had always thought of them as promotional tools, but promotional only, not as the final stop for actually selling and distributing. Hmm, good stuff.
