PPUSA Day 1 Headliner Announcement! (update 11/16)

I was totally shocked by the announcement of Spock's Beard and now I'm making a bold guess on a prog headliner: Flower Kings. Do you guys sense Wednesday night goes full prog or not?

New Vanden Plas and Pagan's Mind in stock

Awesome! Will the PM Blu-Ray be coded for USA blu-ray players? I know on amazon it says only region 2 (european).

PPUSA Day 1 Headliner Announcement! (update 11/16)

So what are the chances they play any bone carver? Will it only be new stuff? I'll die if they play some bone carver!!!

    New Dark Moor!!! Awesome band...

Saw Dark Moor last year in Europe and it is extremely sad to say: this is not the same neo-classical, symphonic band we all remember. Their show was not only very radio pop friendly (fine, I let this slip because bands change) but it was absolutely horrible live (this I can't let slip). I have...

    PPUSA XVII: SOLD-OUT

the ticket site is probably jammed up or the timing is off; unlikely everything is sold out in 10 seconds. It probably sees a ton a traffic and purposely holds the sale of tickets to ensure no mistake sales or accidental oversells. Hopefully it fixes shortly!

PPUSA XVI - Flight Arrival Times

Any late arrivals? I'm Friday 3:45PM and ready to split a cab with anyone else.

An essay I wrote about why PPUSA sellout is a big deal.

I chose PPUSA as my topic for a strategy paper [2 pages] I wrote last year as part of my MBA program. Since my paper is very similar to this article, I think I will share it. See Albert, I am actually doing something up here in Evanston...

Dark Moor, anyone??? Would love to have them

When I was younger I definitely told people Dark Moor was my favorite metal band. Always has been a top pick for PPUSA for me. But I traveled to Europe and caught them at a festival a few months ago - - and it was sad and disappointing. They didn't play a single classic tune and the band sounded...

    Anathema: I'm thrilled beyond words...

Glenn: sure seems like PPUSA has grown to a point where you can book your own bucketlist of bands because the PPUSA brand sells tickets for you. Congrats on that. And thanks for helping us all capture that "feeling" when we see our favorite bands. As a side note, a separate band that evokes a...

    Cheers and Jeers 2014

Jeer: is there any way to tone down some of the blinding light flashed into the audience? It got pretty harsh after several hours. Cheer: Free ear plugs! And Nolets Gin in the bar (dutch gin with notes of turkish rose, peach, and raspberry - - all very metal, of course).

    Pain of Salvation

The track is called "Of two beginnings" - - we got both. And pause for a moment to appreciate the magnitude of putting on a fest like this. Think of the fires that have been put out that you didn't see. Be a little more tolerant, metal brothers!

    Was Oliva on painkillers....

No kidding, I saw tears in some eyes during 'believe'. What an emotional show.

What's up with the aggressive security head?

Guy is a hardass but my advice is to finish your drink and exit. Then bypass the entire line on the right hand side for the two right doors. You You already have a stamped hand so it is simply re-entry. Not too big a deal.

Must see summer concert of 2014 - Yes

Does anybody in Chicago want to go to this show with me? Moved to the area recently and looking for metal and prog buddies.
