Blind Guardian - Punishment Divine "NATURE'S LAW INSTEAD OF GOD...IN HEAVEN!!!" :kickass: This song singlehandedly sealed the deal for metal for me.

Torn between Deathspell Omega and Averse Sefira, but decided on DO because of the higher amount of variety in their songwriting. Averse Sefira gets incredibly repetitive after a while and don't have nearly the same eerie atmosphere.

I was waiting for someone to correct that. Thank you. Can't wait to see them at Mayhem fest, but I have no real interest in buying the new album. I haven't really enjoyed Behemoth in a while because I overloaded myself on The Apostasy and can only take them a couple songs at a time.

Definitely Necroticism because of the creative song structures, but if I just went with my gut, I'd go with Heartwork because of the catchiness of the tunes (and because the songs sound better live).

California Death Fest = Awesome 13 hours was a little bit long to stand, but most of the bands were pretty good and, aside from some sound problems (the bass was overwhelming and you couldn't hear a lot of the guitar work), I enjoyed it a lot. Here's my quick review of the bands...

Quite a fantastic album, I don't get all the negative feedback that people have been giving it. "Contractor" reminds me a little bit of Children of Bodom, and I like the melodic bit at the end of "In Your Words".

I agree with the intelligent posters on this board in that no genre of metal sucks, and being a fad does not make a certain type of metal less credible. This is a band-by-band argument.

Fuck yes! I already bought my tickets. And I'm going to see Meshuggah and Cynic tomorrow at the Anaheim House of Blues, but I'm going to murder whoever in the Disney hierarchy is responsible for banning The Faceless. What kind of lame bullshit is that? :mad:
