I always thought Dornenreich were similar to Opeth, but no-one ever seems to agree with me : ( . Same contrast between electric and acoustic, clean and extreme vocals, etc.

I thought the lyrics were good, they make a nice point about how our society glorifies the dead and treats them like saints *cough* Jade Goody *cough*

Dornenreich - Dem Wind Geboren

Sure, they might be a little pretentious, but they sound good; the phrasing and actual selection of words is excellent (words like cascade, for example, just have that sound to them). And when put into the context of the songs, they usually fit pretty well. Especially the end of Bloodbirds.

Strange, all the Akercocke lyrics I've been able to make out have been pretty lewd. I'll have to focus more on the lyrics next time I listen to them.

Too late, I checked out Silent Waters on Spotify. Sounded pretty similar to Eclipse stylistically, wasn't bad and was quite easy to listen to, but the songs sounded familiar from the first listen, so I think I'll get bored of it quite quickly. I'll have to give it a few more listens before I...

I have Eclipse by Amorphis, and it's an album I really enjoy, but because they change their style with each release I don't have a clue which Amorphis album to buy next. What do you fellows recommend?

You should try to get a copy somehow, it's an awesome album. Like the good parts of Dream Theater without all of the cringe, only more futuristic sounding and given an infusion of Cynic on E. Only more jazzed up.
