What kind of bridge have you got? I had a TOM bridge that had grounding issues because the action was too high. The bridge ground wire was connected to one of the bridge adjustment poles and when I adjusted it too high it would stop touching the pole. Well that's what I think was happening...

Don't buy another m-audio device if you do upgrade. I've had nothing but problems with them.

Sorry to say this but I am still getting spikes. It seemed better until I turned the volume pot on my guitar to zero, then changed the gate's floor to -63 db then back down to -inf db (triggered nasty spikes) Ableton Live 9.1, a screenshot of the chain I am using: SCREENSHOT HERE

I have just realised that it's that same issue I told you about a while back. When I have a gate before Recabinet and it silences the sound entirely, CPU spikes pretty bad. But if I adjust the gate to only attenuate to around -60db, no more CPU spikes occur. Hope this helps.
