IMO the only cheery song on GR is Baying Of The Hounds on a couple parts. and atonement which is a friggen weird song. i think one thing that contributed to the shift, musically, was the addition of per wiburg. they never had a key player.

i agree that the lyrics are dark. they always are. idk. its just me i guess. WS was my least favorite album. but i still love it. IMO heir apparent and TLE are the only dark creepy songs..not just becuase they are heavy. but ...well they just give me the creeps. i love to play Death Whispered a...

i dont think they should go "darker" necessarily..but more "mysterious" like The Grand Conjuration and Death Whispered a Lullaby, ghost of perdition and deliverance. watershed was too upbeat.

i heard in an interview that mikael and per were going to do something with an orchestra.."something beautiful. but VERY dark" i want to hear that!!!

whenever i like the way someone plays or i like a certain sound..i learn how to play it..and then tweak it and make it better in my own way. make it unique. hope this helps

i just sounds like 3 different songs that they slammed together to me. i like the acoustic part. it would go good in a different song. and i like the other riffs...but they arent connected well.
