Yeah I just got the capi vp28 and it's closer to the vintage API units that actually made their reputation than the actual new api stuff such as the 512c and the 3124

My Ddrum pro kick trigger was constantly breaking, and u can get replacement transducers for like 7 bucks, but once I got tired of doing that I switched to Roland ant havet had an issue since.

id second the MJE hulk 990. he really does do great work in transforming these mics into something amazing. i think they come really close to the neumann's and even if they arent exact they are such a pleasent sounding mic u can utilize them for a lot.

thanks guys ill keep working on what you mentioned. thats so weird about the snare, i locked it to the grid, maybe i went a little overboard with the transient enveloper or something?
