Going to see Doro next month...

Doro sounded great the other night. Her voice still amazes me. The band was o.k. Bolan looked like he was out of his mind. His energy was out of control. I thought he was going to fall over a few times. He just seemed to jam on in his own world. It was either pure energy and enthusiasm that...

The thread where you talk about non-metal music you like.

    Yup. Great stuff right there.

    Metal Story Tellers

Growing up I used to hear all of the cliche's regarding my taste for all things metal: [kid on bus and his interpretation of metal lyrics]: "KILL YOUR MOTHER KILL YOUR BROTHER!!!" [kid in class talking about kids who listen to metal]: "Those kids who listen to heavy metal must be dumb because...

    Savatage

I guess to me it seems that the material just kind of rambles on and on. I might have been expecting something else at the time. I might give them both a go again as it has been a while.

    Hard Radio - Hardboard Members?

I am just curious if any people used to be or are still part of the Hard Radio Forum? I joined that forum in 2000 or so, and at the time it was a pretty lively and spirited forum. Then, it just kind of hit a wall, and went stagnant to almost non-existent as it is now. ...At least the forum...

Going to see Doro next month...

Thanks. I will research that show. This is actually billed as a "The voice of Warlock", "Celebrating 30 years", so I am guessing that there will be a good chuck of Warlock Material mixed in. I'm looking forward to the small intimate setting that this show will be in as well.

    Leather Leone...Underated Female Vocalist

Same here. I do think their sound is a bit like Shok Paris who were another mid-west u.s. band (and a much better band overall). I haven't researched it but I would be interested to know if there were links between the two bands production-wise.

GMD Song Survivor: Metallica - ...And Justice For All, Round 2

lol. Point taken. See Municipal Waste's "You're Cut Off" as an example of complex thought out lyrics. [/sarcasm off]

    Leather Leone...Underated Female Vocalist

While not a huge name by no means, but many of us old schooler's know her, mainly for her work with Chastain. She still is active today, although I have not heard any of her newer material. I am not sure why she never made it huge. I think the band Chastain was from the mid-west in the...

    Savatage

...Been a fan of Savatage since 86 or so (The first and only time I saw them live they opened for Dio back in 87 or so, and most of the people in the crowd were not into them...infact some were throwing small batteries at them. :( ). The only albums that I find weak are "Dead Winter Dead", and...
