You have a very nice starting point thinking of the atmosphere and chords, but I would add some melodic material in the heavy part to not get the listener bored.

Try out "guitarmasterclass.net". There's a bit of everything there, and a lot of metal too! It's free to watch the videos, but if you want to get backing tracks, tabs and so on, you have to subscribe. I don't remember exactly how much it is for half a year, but I thought it was worth it!
