    Mix crits please!

Thanks a ton man, I'm going to try that right now and I'll probably post the resulting mix later to see what you guys think. I'm pretty happy with the feedback. My biggest concern was the relationship with the kick drums click vs the bass guitar's clank. Honestly I guess that kind of thing...

    Mix crits please!

Thanks man!! So another vote for louder drums! Man, I really thought my drums were almost TOO loud. This is why I needed some fresh ears.

    Mix crits please!

Thanks so much man! The drums are just SSD4, no blending or anything. Guitars are pod farm. So basically, you think if I back off on the guitar and bass volume, it will bring the drums forward and you think that would be a pretty cool balance?

    Mix crits please!

Hey dudes. I'm currently recording a band that tunes in drop A, and is still pretty riffy at times. I struggled with myself and kept second guessing how I was going to approach the mix. I've got it to where I think I like it, but I would greatly appreciate some outside input on how everything...

I'll pay someone to help me with Ozone 5

Thanks for the input dudes! I'm using the Chango Twango bass. I got the "pre processed" one and was advised to not to any EQing to it. When I make it louder it's like all the frequencies I DON'T want to stand out... stand out. Hahaha. Maybe I should give something else a try. Or, just record bass.

Alright dudes. Here is my current mix and master for the project, with no MaxxBass. This is just how I would normally do things. Think I need MaxxBass? Or do you think I'm doing pretty solid? https://soundcloud.com/mysecrettracks/master-test-clip

I'll pay someone to help me with Ozone 5

Mainly because I thought I had a really great mix, and an even better master. I thought I was killin' it. And then, 2 different producers listened to it, and one of them said "You're missing an L2 and a MaxxBass". Honestly, I now think he was just big dicking me. Because since I tried to change...

Will pay to have someone critique my mix and help me with Ozone 5

Anyone who is experienced with metal/metalcore production and Ozone 5 interested in making some cash in helping me out? Not trying to pawn my work off on someone, mainly trying to learn from someone to better myself.

I'm trying really hard to get a mix and master sounding great. I believe my mix is good, but I can not get the desired results when mastering. I realize that this could be any combination of things, so I won't even try asking dumb questions about "why does my master sound like shit, aaaaah" like...

    "Mix ready" impulses? (noob question)

I would just like to say that Redline's impulses just changed EVERYTHING for me. Makes me wonder what I've been doing with my life. If anyone reading this hasn't tried them then I would highly suggest doing so and hating yourself for not doing it sooner. FrankTheSmith, about to give yours a shot...

    "Mix ready" impulses? (noob question)

Also, when you say you're using the x50, is there any difference really between v1 and v2? I haven't bought the new one yet because I'm not sure if its worth the 40 dollars for the upgrade. And do I have to bypass the power amp or anything?

    "Mix ready" impulses? (noob question)

That's awesome man! I'm trying to finish up a project right now and I keep finding all of these impulses that tempt me to start all over again. It sucks, and is also awesome. I'm about to check these out tonight! Thanks for the link :)

    "Mix ready" impulses? (noob question)

Oh they just sound like butts everywhere. Hahaha. I agree though, some of my best mixes are made up of tones that sound awful by themselves.

    "Mix ready" impulses? (noob question)

Ok so at the risk of sounding absolutely ridiculous, when a cab impulse is "mix ready", does that mean that no additional EQ is required? Like high passing and low passing? I bought the Joey Sturgis ones, and for me... they sound like butts. I'm just wondering if I'm destroying what they are...
