Powerwolf? I guess they're power metal tho....

I would say Metallica was one of the first full out thrash metal bands, but there were so many bands coming out around the same time with that sound. It would be hard to pinpoint the first.

Personally I think heavy metal and power metal are two separate genres.... especially considering that there aren't any real power metal albums on this list as of yet.
