    Changing musical tastes

I guess my tastes have always been quite eclectic and as such it's the odd connections that are interesting: Slayer's atonal solos and Albert Ayler or Peter Brotzmann free jazz, The Berzerker's use of drum machines and Conlon Nancarrow's player piano pieces, both using the machine to do what the...

ROB CAGGIANO Says He 'Never Understood' Why ANTHRAX Didn't Want To Include Him In Son

Everything Rob says here could have been said by Paul Crook years before.

    New album update

Okay, Scott and Charlie are fanboys/nerds, but their jumping onto trends can seem opportunistic and inauthentic. Just get the drum tracks recorded and the album released guys.

The 20 Greatest Metal Albums in History

Or two versions of the list, one where each band can only have one album listed and another where multiple albums are allowed. Band A's second best album may be better than band B's.

    Slayer-more drama than Anthrax?

For me: Reign in Blood Seasons in the Abyss South of Heaven World Painted Blood Christ Illusion Hell Awaits Divine Intervention Undisputed Attitude Show No Mercy Diabolus in Musica God Hates Us All

    O/T New Megadeth

I wonder if Mustaine's problem is needing musicians who are as good as him, but not better.

Anthrax is BACK, Dan Spitz returning

What would have been better is not getting into such a situation in the first place.

    Anthrax and Pantera?

This. Kill 'em All was the fastest and heaviest at that time. Show No Mercy is very Iron Maiden and Judas Priest. Then Ride the Lightning was a massive step forward from Kill 'em All. As you say they did Fade to Black, whereas Exodus were proudly proclaiming "four albums, no ballad"...

Don't know if this or the photo of Queenryche on the back of Rage for Order is worse.

Former ANTHRAX Guitarist ROB CAGGIANO: 'My Heart Simply Wasn't In It Anymore'

Surely Rob must have knew when going in that he was going to be a hired hand and not someone who would be contributing to the lyrics and the music beyond guitar solos.

March 19, 2013 "Anthems" EP Release Date

Can't see Joey hitting the Geddy Lee register in Anthem, but equally John Bush wouldn't have (and Lee himself probably cannot now). Similarly Anthrax don't seem a twin guitar attack band in the Lizzy mould for Jailbreak.

STOMP 442 - the 'Thrax underrated?

Not a fan of Stomp 442 - it seems a bit one-dimensional to me and I struggle to get through the entire CD. I prefer Volume 8 and the opening one-two of Crush and Catharsis.

BREAKING NEWS: Rob Caggiano quits Anthrax

IMO that would be cool. He and Anthrax do have a history through working together on the Ghosts of Mars soundtrack.

BREAKING NEWS: Rob Caggiano quits Anthrax

If Scott and Charlie had treated Paul properly back in the day - Stomp 442 and Volume 8 - they could have had a great guitarist as part of their band rather than just a hired gun.
