This. The mentality of killing all low end information in the overheads or rooms of a drum kit has gotten a bit out of hand these days.

Guitars and bass are enough out of tune to make it weird. The kick is weird, and the bass tone doesn't really fit the track. Everything except for the guitars sounds/feels far away.

Use the drums and vocal reverb/delays for width, keep the low end in the center. Guitar up the middle, any overdubs (if applicable) panned a bit to the side. A hint (and I really mean only a touch) of plate verb or room convolution on a center-panned main guitar can give you a sense of wideness...

I've been using DRT in combination with Trigger for the last few years. DRT does take some work to get the MIDI sample-accurate. I find myself going through every single trigger point, which is time consuming but worth it in the end.
