Came back after 3 years to see if there would be a thread about the new album. Was not disappointed. Been a while since I've listened to In Flames, I hope they get me obsessed over their music again.

Different atmospheres to the post-R2R albums.

I dislike their lack of their 'signature melodies'. I think the perfect example would be the acoustic part in Jester Script Transfigured. Probably my favourite part in a song - ever. I think that they're still melodic, but a different kind of melodic. I dunno, I always finding it hard...

Hehe more like BVB copying A7x. 0:09 of both songs are pretty much the same :) Also, if you listen to Unholy Confessions and Knives and Pens... Similar intro riff expect A7x does it way better. BVB sucks, A7x deserves a wee bit of respect :D

Yeah, heard it before. Very nice track - I'm liking Machine Head's progression. Their first album was semi decent but up until Through the Ashes of Empires they just kinda sucked. The Blackening is by far one of the best metal albums out there - very original. They sound like a proper metal band...

I disagree :) I find Trivium's longer songs pretty boring. Sure, it's not the same riff repeated throughout the song but there's nothing that grabs my attention. But I agree with Machine Head... Halo from The Blackening -probably the best song on the album- has it all. A nice bass intro...

The intros to most of the songs in Shogun get me interested then it breaks into this metalcore shit thing and ruins it. I don't mind metalcore, but I hate how Trivium ruins the technicality of their songs by adding crappy, monotonous riffs. Listen to Torn Between Scylla and Charybdis. Lots of...

You're being ignorant now. If you had read my earlier posts I clearly state that I like their new material and that I do listen to it BUT I just think that their older stuff is better. In summary, I like both era of In Flames and I did make it very clear that I did. Also, I don't believe...

We do realise and accept the fact that they've stopped writing material sounding like their old stuff. Some of us just think it'd be nice to hear Whoracle-inspired riffs but we do know it won't happen. And again, I'd like to point out that none of us expect them to write material like that.

Well I like to think that something can only be defined as bad/good by someone's own opinion. I won't be able to change your opinion nor will you be able to change mine. Let's go for the cliched agree to disagree.
